View allAmanda Griffitths was appointed by CheckUP as the Industry Skills Advisor for Health in January 2023, bringing a wealth of experience in health industry consultation to the role, particularly in regard to Vocational Education and Training (VET) to employment pathways in Queensland. She has worked at CheckUP in the past, making significant contributions to the Grow Your Own Workforce website, holding the role of Project Advisor on the initial Choose Your Own Health Career website project. With a background as a clinical optometrist, Amanda has had the opportunity to work in locations across Queensland, including both metropolitan and very remote communities, giving her a unique perspective on workforce issues throughout the state. Amanda is eager to collaborate with industry and is looking forward to the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in her position.
CheckUP released its Health Workforce Skills and Development Report 2021-22 in October 2021. This report provides an overview of trends in the Health Industry through analysis of industry intelligence and workforce and training data. Through identifying priority areas for workforce skills and development, the report is intended to be used by government and industry as a resource to inform workforce development and skills investment in the health industry.
