Online training

Online training

CheckUP responds to the emerging needs of the rapidly evolving health and community services sector, developing a skilled, competent and professional workforce. We have developed, coordinated, and run training programs that have varied in size and content. Our current online training programs include Access for All, Genomics for GPs, and Mental Health Skills Training (with Larter Consulting).

Access for All

The Access for All: Disability Awareness for Mainstream Health Providers program aims to improve practice in the delivery of mainstream health services to people with disability in regional, rural, and remote Queensland. It is funded by the NDIA and includes a free online training course and an accompanying app.

The initiative was funded by Queensland Genomics. The program aims to provide relevant information about genomics medicine to assist General Practitioners in the implementation of genomics into their everyday practice.

Mental Health Skills Training

The Mental Health Skills Training (MHST) package was developed by CheckUP in collaboration with Larter Consulting. It is designed to equip GPs, practice nurses and mental health clinicians with a toolbox of evidence-based material and techniques to allow them to practically assist patients with a broad spectrum of mental health presentations. The training is comprised of two levels.

This training is now wholly run by Larter Consulting, so please contact them if you want to learn more.
