Queensland Mental Health Week

CheckUP is proud to coordinate Queensland Mental Health Week (QMHW) on behalf of the Queensland Mental Health Commission with the support of a strong cross-sector collaboration.

QMHW is an annual awareness week that aims to shine a spotlight on individual and community mental health and wellbeing.

2022 marks the fifth year CheckUP has coordinated QMHW and the second year we have administered the associated Community Events Grant Program.

Hundreds of events, activities and conversations are set to take place across the state from Saturday 8 October to Sunday 16 October to mark Queensland Mental Health Week. Activities set to take place include wellbeing expos, art exhibitions, workshops and morning teas, with many of the events linking with local mental health services and focusing on wellbeing education.

The 2022 theme ‘Awareness, Belonging, Connection’ reflects the important factors that help people maintain positive mental health and wellbeing.

We encourage Queenslanders to get involved in the week in a way that is meaningful to them. You can take time to learn what activities boost your mental wellbeing, look out for those you care about, and connect with your community by participating in one of the hundreds of events happening across the state.

Queensland Mental Health Week is a time when people are prompted to find out more about mental health and seek help for problems they may be facing, so remember, a conversation can play a powerful role in connecting someone to the care they need.
