North Queensland Ear and Hearing Project

CheckUP recently welcomed Denise Newman to the team as the Ear Health Clinical Specialist Project Officer, based in The Torres Strait Islands, to facilitate the North Queensland Ear and Hearing Project, which has funded by the North Queensland PHN. The project will be delivered from 1 January to 30 June 2019 with a focus on providing existing ear health staff with the skills and knowledge to deliver community-based best practice hearing health care, with a focus on 0-4-year-old children as a priority.

Identification of hearing health workers, and other health professionals, has already been progressed with several earmarked for attendance at an upcoming hearing health workshop in Cairns.
