Meet our team: Brianna Delacour

Brianna Delacour joined CheckUP as our North-North West Regional Coordinator in July and is working out of our Townsville office. Prior to joining CheckUP, Brianna spent six years working as an endorsed enrolled nurse in the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector.

"I am a proud Kalkadoon woman that has a passion for Indigenous Health and strives at being able to make a difference for our First Nations people of Queensland. Becoming a Regional Coordinator with CheckUP has allowed me to extend my footprint into the North-West region to help coordinate health services in this region and work towards closing the gap."  - Brianna Delacour

What does a typical day look like for you?

On a work day, it involves coffee, getting my daughter off to daycare, coffee, getting to work, more coffee, going home and spending time with my family.

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

Being able to help work towards better health outcomes for my region. I also enjoy being able to travel to these locations and see first-hand what difference CheckUP is making

What are 3 words you would use to describe CheckUP?

Supportive, teamwork and ambitious.

Are there any major changes in the health sector or work that CheckUP undertakes that you have noticed since starting in your role?

Recently in my regions, I’ve noticed that more and more, providers and services are working collaboratively when visiting locations, particularly remote communities, to ensure there is no community fatigue and burnout on providers.

What activities do you enjoy when you’re not working?

I enjoy taking my daughter swimming or watching movies and spending as much time with her as possible.

Who did you last listen to when you drove/flew somewhere?

Old school RnB.
