Jacinta Perry joins CheckUP's new YIPEE Program
CheckUP recently commenced an exciting new project called the 'Youth Industry Partnerships for Education and Employment' project (YIPEE).
Funded by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT) the YIPEE project will be implemented by a School/Industry Transition Officer, Jacinta Perry who started in the role last week.
Jacinta will work with schools and the local health industry in the Far North Queensland region to develop partnerships to support more effective school-to-work transitions for five schools with a significant proportion of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.
Jacinta's role is the link to creating and supporting sustainable pathways for students transitioning from school to further education, employment, or training. The role will also assist students to find and prepare for work experience and/or structured work placements, liaise with employers, and provide support to both students and employers during this process.
If you, or someone you know in the Far North Queensland region, is interested in becoming involved in the YIPEE project, please contact Jacinta at jperry@checkup.org.au.
